Why make a dull crossing if there is room for a creative and fun solution? This bridge has two different pathways, one going down and one going up. Together, they form an attractive looking modern truss bridge. The steel structure is made out of box beams and has an especially smooth surface due to the use of a polyester filler commonly used on boats.
The engineering part of the design offered us many challenges, as the asymmetrical bridge would naturally be likely to sag and rotate. We therefore used relatively large edge beams and many stiffeners inside the boxed bridge decks.
